Tayler Turns 12!

Tayler turned 12 a couple of weeks ago! This was a special birthday for us - it means that he was ordained to the Priesthood as a Deacon. We celebrated in a couple of different ways. First, for his birthday we took the family along with a couple of his friends to a movie. Since his birthday is close to Thanksgiving, we did this a little earlier in the month when his friends were in town and available.

On his actual birthday we took him out to dinner at the restaurant of his choice. He chose to go to Seafare Inn in Whittier (he loves the calamari). We were happy to oblige as that is one of our favorite restaurants. Norm and I have been going there together since we were 16. The food is great and the prices are awesome!

The Sunday after Tayler turned 12, he was ordained by Norm at our home after church. We had the family (on both sides) over and celebrated. We had lots of good food and fun!

This past Sunday, Tayler passed the Sacrament for the first time! He did a great job!

It doesn't seem like it has been that long since he was sitting on my lap and I was whispering in his ear (to try and keep him quiet during the Sacrament) "Watch the big boys pass the Sacrament - someday you will be a big boy and you will get to pass the Sacrament too!" Where does the time go? It won't be long before he is getting ready to serve his mission and I am looking back wondering the same thing! Tayler we are proud of you! You are a great kid and we enjoy having you as part of our family! We love you!

Tell Tayler he looked like a pro passing the sacrament. The key is always act like you know what you are doing,
